One of the Most Caring Cities in America
When it comes to professionals who work in a field that focuses on the health and well-being of others – such as nurses, teachers, therapists and doctors – the City of Carmel has a higher percentage than any city in Indiana, making it the “Most Caring” city in the state, according to a data analysis by Insurify, a Cambridge, MA, based company that compares auto insurance quotes.
Insurify analyzed their database of more than four million car insurance applications, where city, state and primary occupations are listed, to determine the Most Caring cities in America. To determine which cities are most caring, Insurify’s data science team identified the following occupations as the most caring in 2022: caregiver, counselor, firefighter, hospice volunteer, nurse practitioner, paramedic, physician/medical doctor, teacher, therapist and social worker.
Carmel’s 3.94 percent of the share of drivers with these occupations was 55 percent greater than the state average, thereby earning Carmel the top spot for the state of Indiana.
“This survey is a nice acknowledgement of the many caring professionals we have here in Carmel, which is crucial as we continue to struggle with the challenges of COVID-19,” said Mayor Jim Brainard. “This is a good opportunity to thank all of those who dedicate their time and energy, and in some cases have even risked their lives in order to care for others."
